Dobby

A Dobby for KarzU

I don't know what a dobby is.... nor have I ever read or seen Harry Potter. Yeah, I'm uncomfortable with the idea of wizardry and children. I also find it a little scary that it has such a cult following. But that's just my opinion and I'm aware that some of you out there are fans, and that's your business. KarzU asked for a Dobby tutorial, so here it is.

It was hard to find a reference picture that I would be able to adapt to my style.... I found a cartoonized version of him, but I hope it's still recognizable to you guys. :)

Tutorial:

Thanks for suggesting it KarzU!

  6. What do you use to make the very fine lines? Are you using nail polish or some other paint? I love your work!

  7. @Jim- I use acrylic craft paint on these false nails. Sometimes I use polish with a lot of thinner. But this is black acrylic paint and a tiny nail art striping brush, (by tiny, I mean like 8 strands of hair) Acrylic paint doesn't wear as long or well as polish, but it doesn't matter for this project that I'm working on, since these nails are going to be framed and not worn.
