Who's up for an ICEE?

I know I could use one right about now. It's still soooo ridiculously hot here in Louisiana. It doesn't usually start to feel like fall until around October. A slushy, frozen, Coca Cola flavored treat is required to help cope. They of course have various flavors, but I always go for Coke.

Funny factoid about Louisiana people: We call every soft drink a "Coke."
Say you are at a party and someone asks you, "What would you like to drink?"
If you're a Louisiana redneck you might say, "I'll just have a Coke. That's fine."
"What kind do you want? We have Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, and Coke."
"Dr. Pepper's good. Thanks."
Weird right? We also for the most part have a strong dislike of Pepsi products. Oh, and don't call it "pop" or "soda pop" that's just not right. Lol

Base colors are polish and details are acrylic paint.

  1. Ahhh, this is sooo cute! Here in the Phils. some call toothpaste "Colgate" no matter what the brand, or "Sunkist" for oranges, "Cutex" (or kyutiks) for nail polish! :P

  6. That is just just not fair how good you are at this! Seriously, it looks like stickers. So amazing! Here in Texas we don't call all soft drinks Coke, but we DEFINITELY don't say pop. Lol. That would get you some weird looks!

  15. In far west Texas we say coke too, even when it's in spanish (coca vs soda), hehe. Fantastic artwork, it really does look like stickers with that detail! Really makes me want an Icee this very hot afternoon!

  16. Awesome look! LOL I've always been really interested in regional linguistic things like that - where I live (western Canada) pretty much everyone calls it pop. Saying soda sounds very "American" to our ears, and soda pop is just too long! LOL and coke is just Coca-Cola (or an illicit substance!)

  17. Wow, your nail art is amazing!

I haven't seen an Icee in years. We used to have them in Australia when I was little, but not anymore.

Down here we call 'soda/pop/Coke' etc - Fizzy or Fizzy Drink. "Would you like a Fizzy?" :)
